Coleman Trebor

Battle of Geonosis

"An amphibious creature from the watery world of Sembla, Coleman Trebor is a brave and noble Jedi Knight and member of the Jedi High Council. He is one of many Jedi assembles by Mace Windu to confront the Separatist armies on Geonosis. Here, where the Clone Wars begin, Trebor defeats countless Geonosian warriors and droid battalion, but meets his ultimate fate in the gunslinging hands of bounty hunter Jango Fett." --Excerpt from the package back

Wow, when it rains it pours! A few days after finally finding some new figures, I find some more!

Sculpt--5/5
Coleman Trebor simply looks excellent. Everything about this large Jedi looks very accurate to the movie. He's got great detail in his headsculpt and skin, and his outfit looks amazing. There is also a heftiness to this figure that stems from the fact that he's a pretty big guy (girth-wise) compared to a human. Just look at his boots--they're huge! The posing on this fellow is also excellent. Hasbro didn't over-pose him like some of the more pre-posed Jedi figures, nor did they under-pose him. My only gripe is that his left foot is pointed forward to such an extent that it renders some of the articulation almost useless.

Articulation--5/5
Coleman Trebor has eleven articulation points: neck, ball-jointed shoulders, left elbow-cut, wrist cuts, waist, hips, ball-jointed right ankle, and ball-jointed left knee. That's quite impressive for a character who spends most of his time dying on screen. All the arm articulation is perfect for multiple lightsaber poses. You can also pose his left arm to make it look like he's using the Force. The leg articulation is interesting, but in the end it's not as cool as I initially thought it would be. There's really not much you can do with his legs. You can straighten out his left leg or have it bent slightly, but that's about it. The ankle articulation is only good for minor adjustments since there's not much room for motion. Despite this, Coleman Trebor has excellent articulation and is capable of a good number of exciting action poses.

Features--NA/5
There are no features in this set.

Accessories--5/5
Coleman Trebor comes with his lightsaber and a Geonosis Arena base. The base is a decent piece which tries to recreate the floor of the Geonosis Arena. There are broken Battle Droid parts molded in it and some nice textures of dirt and dry sand. The base is good for creating difficult poses (like having him get shot by Jango!). The base also can connect to certain other bases. The lightsaber is pretty generic and has a removable green blade. There's really not much more you can ask for in terms of accessories; I certainly don't need another Force effect.

Paint--4/5
The painting is good, but not perfect. Hasbro got the tone of Trebor's skin just right, but there are tan highlights that don't look too good on my figure. I'm assuming the highlights were supposed to be dry-brushed on the figure, but instead the end result is that it looks like Trebor is wearing sunblock on his nose and forehead. Everything else looks great though.

Packaging--4/5
Yeah, I usually don't say anything about packaging for the basic figures since they've been generally all the same, but I figure I've gotta say something about this newest Saga packaging. First off, I think it's a nice change. The gold left edge is eye-catching and makes it a bit easier to identify figures when you're looking through the pegs at the toy store. It would have been nice if they had put the name of the figure on the edge as well, but I guess they didn't want to make it too easy to hunt for your favorite figure. The white starburst behind the figure has grown in size compared to previous Saga cards and it helps break up the dark blue background and makes it look all the more different from the old Saga cards.

The cardbacks have also gotten a complete overhaul and the dominant color is a light bluish-gray. The look is much more futuristic with its bleak background which makes the full-color images of the figures stand out even more. I guess you can tell that I'm really digging the new packaging; it just feels like they put a good deal of time designing the look of it all, and in turn it makes me fell like I'm getting something truly special.

Overall--4.5/5
I really really want to give this figure a perfect score, but the poorly painted highlights on his face really distract me. If I get feedback that it is not like this on all of the figures then I'll change the score. This truly is a great action figure. He looks great, he's capable of many cool poses, he's got a nice base for display...all I can say is--you've GOT to buy this figure!!
