The Episode I Yoda figure gets re-released with some very slight changes. Read on for the review and 6 photos!
Yoda
Jedi High Council
"Well into his 800s, Yoda is the oldest member of the Jedi High Council, as well as its most deeply perceptive Master. A great traveler in his younger years, Yoda has quietly visited hundreds of worlds on his own, spending years learning different lifeways and appreciating the infinitely variable nuances of the Force. His experiences have made him cautious and reflective."--Excerpt from the package back
| Sculpt--3.5/5 If this Yoda looks familiar, it's because it is the same figure as the Episode I Yoda. The sculpt is actually quite good and still holds up after all these years. The only thing wrong is that the face is very Episode I-ish and looks very little like the Yoda seen in Attack of the Clones. But besides that point, the face looks great with nice, sharp details. Just as before, the hood is a separate piece from the body which is fine, except that on mine the hood isn't glued down as good as it could be, so it's not quite flush with the rest of Yoda's robes. But overall, it's a good lookin Yoda figure. Articulation--3.5/5 Yoda has four points of articulation: neck, ball-jointed shoulders, and hips. The ball jointed shoulders are okay, but there isn't as much room for movement as there could've been because of the hood. His left arm is much worse than the right, since he can't even put his arm down to his side. Features--3/5 Yoda's got the Force-attract feature in his left hand. The magnet isn't too strong, but it's strong enough. Yoda wouldn't be able to hold his lightsaber without it. Accessories--4/5 Yoda comes with his Jedi Council chair and his lightsaber with removable blade. The chair is the same one as the Episode I version, and it's a nice accessory for the most part. It seems a little too two-dimensional as it doesn't seem wide enough from front to back. Yoda fits in the seat quite snugly though, and the two compliment each other well. Paint--3.5/5 The paint is biggest difference between this Yoda and the Episode I Yoda. Yoda's skin is a darker green, and his hair isn't painted as white as the Episode I version. Saga Yoda's outer robes are also molded in a lighter color plastic than the Episode I Yoda's. Overall--3.5/5 This is a decent figure if you're a Yoda fan, but you may not feel the need to own this one if you have the Episode I version as there's not much difference between the two. --Photos and review by Garett Yoshimura garett@carrotnetwork.com |
