Obi-Wan Kenobi
Jedi Starfighter Pilot
"Obi-Wan Kenobi is sent to Kamino by the Jedi Council to discover who is behind an assassination attempt. Piloting the Jedi Starfighter, Obi-Wan discovers an industrial facility in which a stunning cultivation is underway - one that may decide the fate of the encroaching civil war." --Excerpt from the card back
| Sculpt--3.5/5 Some people were put off by the look of the underarm/bicep area of this figure's arms, and I was one of those people, but once you put his cloak on or have him hold his lightsaber, you'll forget how weird they look as they'll become unnoticeable. When I was first playing with the figure, I didn't think it would be capable of holding the lightsaber with both hands. Thankfully, I was proved wrong. This figure just looks great holding the lightsaber, making me kinda wish it was just a "normal" Obi-Wan figure (i.e. without the headgear). You can make some pretty cool poses thanks to the arms and it makes the figure really shine. The headsculpt still doesn't quite look like Ewan, but it's not bad and certainly isn't any worse than Coruscant Chase Obi's headsculpt. It's too bad the headband isn't film accurate (in the movie, it doesn't go all the way around his head), but I guess Hasbro didn't have the time to tweek the molds. The height of this Obi-Wan also seems to be more accurate over the first figure. I kind of wish the bottom part of his tunic was cloth instead of soft plastic; it would have made it easier for him to sit in the cockpit of the Jedi Starfighter. Articulation--3.5/5 Features--4/5 Obi-Wan also has a Force-attract left hand. The magnet isn't as strong as CC Obi's, but it's strong enough. I'd say that it's the second or third strongest magnet for figures with magnets in their hand. Accessories--5/5 The lightsaber is exactly like the one that comes with Coruscant Chase Obi Wan. The binoculars are probably the worst accessory in the set, as the figure can't hold it up to its eyes to use them! It's nice that they included them anyway, though. The radar dish is cool since it can be attached to the Jedi Starfighter via the little hole behind R4's head. If you don't have the Starfighter, then you can use the handy communication base included with the figure. My base is a bit warped and falls over, but I think it's because of how it's packed in the bubble and the fact that its made of soft plastic. Paint--4/5 Overall--4/5 |
