Saga 2002 #26 Luminara Unduli (Jedi Master) Review

Today's review is of Luminara Unduli, one of the more unique-looking Jedi seen in Attack of the Clones. This figure can't really do much, but it does look good. Read on for the review and 6 photos!

Luminara Unduli

Jedi Master

"Cloaked in dark robes, Luminara Unduli is a female Jedi Master noted for her tranquil beauty and most disciplined presence. Her striking blue eyes punctuate her angular face, and intricate, diamond-shaped tattoos decorate her chin. After returning from a mission to Ansion, Luminara and her Padawan Barriss Offee must contend with Count Dooku's massive armies in a full-scale battle on the red rock planet Geonosis." --Excerpt from the card back

Sculpt--4/5
Yes, Luminara Unduli is another pre-posed Jedi, but boy, does she look great. She is based on the pose she strikes in the movie when she first ignites her lightsaber. Hasbro further embellished Luminara by flaring her dress as if flapping in the wind. The texture of her dress and clothes is great; the texture of her dress is especially impressive.

Articulation--3/5
Luminara has six points: neck, shoulders, angled bicep-cut on left arm, wrist-cut on right arm, and waist. With the angled bicep-cut, you can straighten her arm out or have it bent. Either way, her left arm looks good. The wrist-cut is good for varying her lightsaber position. You'd think her waist articulation would be worthless, but you can actually turn her waist quite a bit. Her outer robe won't match up with her dress once you turn her waist, but surprisingly it still looks good. The neck joint has the most limited movement, thanks to Luminara's headdress. You can still turn her head a bit so it's not a total waste.

Accessories--2/5
You get Luminara's lightsaber and a clip-on blast deflection effect. This is the worst lightsaber hilt I've ever seen. Not only is it just a reused mold of Obi-Wan's hilt, but it's also made of a very soft plastic. Chances are, yours will be bent or slightly curved. The blast effect is decent, but nothing truly exciting.

Paint--3/5
The paint is decent, but I've seen a lot miss-paints and sloppiness. This is partly due to some of the intricate designs on her gauntlets and dress.

Overall--3.5/5
Luminara is one of the better pre-posed Jedi figures, not only because her pose looks fantastic, but because of her nice detailing. Her accessories aren't the greatest, but she's a great addition to the Jedi order.
