There are plenty of Jedi in Attack of the Clones, which means we're gonna get plenty of Jedi figures. The Nikto Jedi (Nikto is the name of his species, not his actual name) is another pre-posed figure, with a wacky Jedi Force wind accessory...thing. Read on for the review and 5 photos!
Nikto
Jedi Knight
"The Jedi are the protectors of the Republic, the guardians of justice and freedom. Their order consists of men and women from many different races and species, including the Nikto. A humanoid species with flat faces and multiple nostrils, the Nikto come from the planet Kintan. Though they come from the various corners of the universe, the Jedi are united in their fight against the dark side of the Force." --Excerpt from the card back
| Sculpt--3/5 Like Shaak Ti, Nikto is pretty much stuck in one pose. It's a good pose though, looking as if he is, or has just hacked and slashed somebody or something. His hands and face are sculpted well, with a lot of bumps and detail. His outer robe is also done well, and I like that it breaks from the norm and is a dirty off-white color. The hood of the outer robe is molded along with the rest of the robe and pretty much encases Nikto's head in place. Thus, you're not going to be moving his head anytime soon. Articulation--1/5 Nikto has six points of articulation: neck, shoulders, wrists, and waist...well, if you ask me he actually has three points: wrists and waist. His arms don't have much motion because of his robe and his pose, and his head is stuck because of the hood. Actually, his wrists are pretty useless as well since his hands are meant to be posed holding his lightsaber with both hands. You can make him hold his saber with one hand, but it doesn't look good. Accessories--2.5/5 You get Nikto's lightsaber and a Force blast effect. The Force blast effect looks like it's supposed to be some sort of wind/tornado type thing, but who knows? It has a small peg which fits into Nikto's lightsaber hilt. Unfortunately, mine has a peg that looks like it is about to fall off. I think it's because of a packaging problem as there's no room for the small peg in the blister tray. Nikto's lightsaber is just like Plo Koon's and that's pretty lame. And like Plo Koon's lightsaber hilt, it somewhat resembles Darth Maul's lightsaber, only cut in half and turned around. Paint--4/5 Not much to paint on this one, but everything that is painted is done well. The outer robe looks great and the details on his belt are nice and defined. Overall--3/5 Like other preposed figures, you're gonna either love it or hate it. I actually like Nikto because he looks pretty unique (must be the white robe!) and is a nice addition to my Jedi figures. |
