Saga 2004 #14 TIE Fighter Pilot (Battle of Yavin) Review

The old POTF2 TIE Fighter Pilot has been re-released a number of times since it's debut in 1996 and is even set to be re-released once again with an exclusive Original Trilogy Collection TIE Fighter and X-Wing two-pack. Thankfully, Hasbro has decided to do an all-new sculpt of the TIE Fighter Pilot, finally making a superior alternative to the almost-nine-year-old POTF2 figure. Read on for the review and 14 photos!

Saga 2004 #12 General Jan Dodonna (Battle of Yavin) Review

Every once in a while, Hasbro conducts a poll on which figure they should make next. They give fans a few choices, usually of more obscure characters, and the winner eventually gets made into an action-figure. General Jan Dodonna was on the list a few times (if I recall correctly) and while he never won, Hasbro apparently got the idea that there were a good deal of people who would like to see this figure. So Dodonna along with Captain Antilles (who also didn't win the poll) have finally been made into action-figures. Read on for the review and 12 photos!

Saga 2004 #03 Luke Skywalker (Hoth Attack) Review

Saga 2003 #05 Sp-4 & JN-66 (Research Droids) Review

If you have the Attack of the Clones DVD or have seen the deleted scenes from the movie, then you've most likely seen these two. I'm surprised Hasbro decided to release these figures, knowing that the scene they were in was deleted from the movie proper. From my own perspective, it seems it was a wise choice; I've only seen these figures twice at my local toy stores and they don't hang around for long. But whether that's because fans have been starved for new product or because they really like these robots is unknown to me. Read on for the review and 14 photos!

UPDATE: Thanks to a reader known only as "AMD", I have learned that at least one of the droids appears in the actual movie! Three droids that look very similar to SP-4 can be spotted in the Coruscant docking bay scene where Anakin and Padme leave for Naboo. Click HERE to see a screen cap and look for them at the left side of the image.

Saga Multipack: The Battle of Hoth Review

I've had this set for a while now, but was reluctant to open it since it has the "incorrect" tauntaun with a broken tusk. I was hoping I'd be able to find the correct, non-broken-tusk tauntaun at my local Toys R Us' but all of them had the incorrect versions. I now have a feeling I will never see the correct version at retail so I figured I might as well open the one I have. Read on for the review and 36 photos!

Saga 2003 #30 The Emperor (Throne Room) Review

We haven't had a Return of the Jedi Emperor figure since the Flashback Emperor Palpatine released in 1998. This figure is kind of like an update to that figure, with better articulation and more detail. However, there are some things that ruin what could have been perhaps the best Emperor figure ever made, so let's get on with the review!

Boba Fett (2003 Convention Figure) Review

This Boba Fett was first available at a Star Wars convention in Mexico, and then appeared at other conventions in the United States. Those who couldn't attend these conventions had the chance to purchase them from the Official Star Wars Fan Club provided you are a member. Paizo (the company in charge of the Fan Club) had done a wonderful job of distributing this figure, limiting it to only two per person. They were $10.00 each. Read on for the review and 7 photos!

Saga Screen Scene: Jedi High Council Set 2 (Featuring Yarael Poof, Depa Billaba & Yaddle) Review

The second set of the Jedi High Council screen scenes features Yarael Poof, Depa Billaba and the much-anticipated Yaddle figure. I had quite a difficult time finding this set, perhaps because of these characters or perhaps because people just like the High Council sets more than the Geonosian War Chamber sets. In any case, every Target I went to had around 4 of the Geonosian War Chamber sets and the last Target I went to had the one and only High Council set which I of course bought. What does it all mean? I don't quite know, so let's just get on with the review!

Saga A-Wing Fighter (Target Exclusive) Review

The box says this ship is from Return of the Jedi, but in reality an A-wing with this paint scheme never appeared in the movie. Thus, some people consider it EU (Expanded Universe). This A-wing is a Target exclusive and while I'm not sure when or if it will show up in the actual stores, you can order it online at Target.com for the nice price of $19.99 (this item is no longer available). There is a note at Target.com stating "Web Only", but whether they're talking about the item itself or the price remains to be seen. Read on for the review and 25 photos!

Saga 2002 #55 Imperial Officer Review

Today we have a review of an older figure from the end of the '02 Saga line. I'm only reviewing him now because I've only just found him! My local Target is starting to put out some of the late '02 and early '03 figures which is a good thing because I personally haven't seen too many of them. Anyhoo, on with the review!

Saga 2003 #19 Snowtrooper (The Battle of Hoth) Review

The announcement of a new Snowtrooper had a lot of fans excited, and Commtech Stormtrooper-styled articulation and a much more detailed sculpt was what many were hoping for. But what most fans didn't expect was that Hasbro chose not to do any ordinary old Snowtrooper, but a Snowtrooper Commander. Here's a quick run-down of the differences between a normal Snowtrooper and a Snowtrooper Commander: The Commander has a rank badge on his chest plate, a holstered sidearm (apparently a blaster pistol), has upside-down shoulder armor, wears what appears to be Stormtrooper forearm armor with cuffed gloves over it, wears a different style of boots, does not wear a backpack, does not have the two large pouches at his waist and wears a slightly different helmet (there are two small silver disks on each side of the helmet). To see actual photos of the Snowtrooper Commander and compare them to the regular Snowtrooper, check out The Snowtrooper Resource Center. So now that you have a better idea of where Hasbro started with this figure, read on for the review and 13 photos!

Saga Screen Scene: Geonosian War Chamber Set 1 (Featuring Poggle the Lesser, Count Dooku & San Hill) Review
