R2-Q5

Imperial Astromech Droid

"R2 units specialize in starship diagnostics and repairs. However, Imperial designers consider astromechs to be unneccessary weight for their short-range TIE fighters. On the second Death Star, R2-Q5 helps maintain the station's elaborate weapons and security systems, and also services all TIE fighters and bombers." --Excerpt from the Force File

R2 units rock. This guy was hard to find in the store, but it was worth the trouble of finding him.

Sculpt--4/5
Based on the newer R2 molds, R2-Q5 is excellent but not perfect. It could have been perfect if Hasbro didn't muck up the dome on this guy. I don't know if they just put a heck of a lot of paint on it or if the mold itself is bad, but the detail on the dome is...well..."smoothed out". The "eye" in particular is the worst offender, being just a little bump. Perhaps the fact that this R2 unit doesn't have a light pipe for an eye is the problem. But still, Hasbro could have compensated. Besides the dome, everything is top-notch.

Articulation--5/5
All R2 units (or R3, or R4, or R5) should have this articulation. R2-Q5 is articulated at the dome, "hips"(?), "ankles", and has a retractable third leg.

Accessories--3/5
Astromechs usually don't need accessories, but Hasbro gave us one anyway: a holographic Death Star II. Not bad I guess. Not terribly useful either though.

Paint--4/5
R2-Q5 seems to be painted in a gloss black, making him pretty darn shiney. On a side note, he looks pretty cool with the Death Star Droid. Anyway, the rest of R2-Q5's paint job is great though it kinda seems like there should be more of the orange-ish trim on the dome.

Overall--4/5
Get this figure if you see it. It's an astromech droid fer cryin' out loud!
