| Power of the Jedi
This is the first Luke in the Power of the Jedi line and it's a great rendition to boot.
Luke Skywalker
X-Wing Pilot
"Luke first gets behind the controls of an X-wing fighter in the Battle of Yavin. Using the Force in the attack against the Death Star, Luke takes a critical shot at the battle station's reactor core. Yavin was a victory for the Rebel Alliance, and established Luke as one of the greatest starfighter pilots in the galaxy!" --excerpt from the Force File

Sculpt--4/5 Excellent. What else can be said about the sculpting? The X-wing pilot uniform never looked better and has an intricate amount of detail. There are lots of folds and wrinkles which make it look like a real uniform. Even the boots and gloves look better than on previous X-wing pilots. The only thing is that they made Luke pretty darn skinny looking.
But enough about the uniform, let's talk about Luke's likeness. This is probably the best likeness Hasbro has done of Luke; it actually looks like a young Mark Hamill! Sure, it's not perfect, but it's pretty close--a heck of a lot closer than any other Luke. The only thing that one might find fault with is the fact that Luke looks like he has buckteeth. His teeth remind me of a rabbit sometimes! Other than this, I feel it's an excellent sculpt and looks great.
Articulation--3/5 Luke has the standard six points of articulation--head, shoulders, waist and hips. There's not much reason for him to have more so I've got no complaints.
Accessories--4/5 There's only one accessory--Luke's X-wing helmet. I love all the removeable-helmet pilots and Luke is no exception. In fact, I'd say that I like his helmet the best. He's got quite a bit of decals on his helmet and Hasbro did a great job of reproducing them in this small scale. The plastic is a lot stiffer than those used for Wedge's or Portkins' helmets but is still pretty flexible. They've added some paint on the sides to make the helmet look worn, but the effect isn't that convincing; it just looks like they wiped some grey paint on. The helmet still looks cool though. I suppose they could have given Luke a blaster, but that wouldn't really fit with the movie since he didn't have a blaster until the ceremony after the destruction of the Death Star.
Paint--4/5 Hasbro did an excellent job on the paint ops for this figure. They got everything right on this figure. The life support unit is actually painted correct on this figure right down to the little button at the very top of the unit. The straps and belt are also painted a correct color (on Wedge they were both the same color, and on Portkins the strap was actually two colors!). The boots and gloves are nicely painted in gloss black. The only flub is that some of the cylinders on his left leg and left shoulder are painted a bit splotchy.
Overall--4/5 This is a great figure and a worthy replacement for the old Luke in X-wing gear. This fig is painted great, sculpted great and will fit into your collection very well. I wish the Electronic FX X-wing didn't have that built-in Luke in it, cuz this Luke would look great in it. I'm hoping the Luke that comes with the new snow speeder will be as good as this one...but i doubt it.
