| Power of the Jedi
You may have noticed that there aren't too many Episode I characters I've reviewed. That's mostly because I'm not as attached to the movie or its characters like I am to the original trilogy. But anyway, I picked this guy up at my local Wal Mart and found him to be pretty cool. I'm afraid I may have to pick up more of these Episode I Jedi now! Read on for the review and 5 photos!
Plo Koon
Jedi Master
"One of the twelve members of the Jedi Council, Plo Koon is a courageous warrior who comes from a long line of Jedi. His hand-to-hand combat abilities are legendary. He also uses his Force powers in combination with his extensive scientific knowledge to produce startling effects against his opponents." --Excerpt from the Force File
| Sculpt--4/5 I like this sculpt; theres a lot of detail in his headsculpt and his robe has a great texture. I can't really tell what he's like under the robe (since it's unremovable). His hands are interesting because his middle fingers have "armored talons" on them. This also makes it look like he's flipping the bird. Articulation--4/5 Plo Koon has eight point of articulation: neck, shoulders, bicep-cuts, waist, and hips. His bicep-cuts are useful for various lightsaber poses. You can also imagine him using his Force powers when you position his arms in certain poses. Accessories--3/5 You get one accessory, Plo Koon's lightsaber. His lightsaber is a fluorescent yellow and looks pretty sweet. The handle's style is more like a classic trilogy style and has a passing resemblance to Darth Vader or Luke's handle with its activation button and handle grips. The silver paint could have been painted on better, because on mine its a bit transparent in the light. Paint--2/5 The paint job is good yet bad. Hasbro has put some nice skin details on this guy, but the pattern on his head looks nothing like the photos. It literally looks like Plo Koon is wearing a hair-net! That's just not right! Also, the skin pattern on his hands bleeds onto his sleeves, and the talons on his fingertips aren't painted completely. Overall--3.5/5 Despite the hair-net, I ended up liking this figure. He's a cool-looking character, and makes a cool-looking action figure. |
