Leia Organa
Bespin Escape
"Princess Leia Organa, the beautiful and spirited leader of the Rebel Alliance, is forced to flee from Imperial forces when the Rebel base on Hoth is attacked. Landing on Bespin's Cloud City, she and her companions are taken prisoner by Darth Vader. After making a daring escape, Leia pursues the bounty hunter, Boba Fett, to the east landing platform in an attempt to rescue the frozen Han Solo." --excerpt from the Force File
| Sculpt--3/5 This is a very good sculpt of the Princess, but it is limiting. She is posed as if she is trotting as she did when running from the Stormtroopers in Cloud City. The details on her outfit are great though, with wrinkles here and there and the little patterns found on parts of her jumpsuit. The head sculpt is also pretty good; Hasbro seems to be getting better at capturing the likenesses of human characters. Another thing to mention is the height of this Leia. This is the shortest Leia yet (not counting the new Deluxe Leia). She is a full head shorter than the Leia as Jabba's Prisoner figure. A huge change, but in my opinion, it is a good change. In real life, Leia (er, I mean Carrie Fisher) really is pretty short, barely coming to the shoulders of Harrison Ford. I'm very happy Hasbro is paying attention to details like this because it makes these figures that much more accurate. Articulation--3/5 Leia has 8 points of articulation: neck, shoulders, bicep-cuts on both arms, waist, and hips. Now, it's great that she has all these points, but the bicep-cuts are pretty worthless since she doesn't look good with her arms posed in any other way. This figure was made with this pose in mind and it's only gonna look good in that pose. Accessories--3/5 Leia comes with not one, but two imperial blaster rifles! Pretty strange, since she never carries two of them in the movie. My theory is that Hasbro is making up for not giving us a standard imperial blaster with the Commtech Stormtrooper. It's too bad that these rifles are soft and rubbery and are light gray in color. Paint--3/5 I'm glad they added some paint to dirty up her jumpsuit instead of just leaving it plain and unpainted. Unfortunately, the right arm isn't painted right on my fig. The painter painted the inside of the right arm instead of the outside. It looks odd because the shoulder is correctly painted on the outside, making the bicep-cut joint that much more noticeable. The rest of the figure is painted pretty good, but the lipstick is a bit too red for my tastes. Overall--3/5 The fact that this figure was designed just for one specific scene hurts it in the long run. But I still like this figure, and it looks great on my shelf so if you're like me and have these figures just sitting on your shelf most of the time, then I recommend this one. |
