FX-7, that multi-armed medical droid is redone for the modern line in excellent detail. The perfect compliment to the Deluxe Luke in Bacta Tank, this droid has all the detail you could want in a medical droid. Read on for the review and 5 photos!
FX-7
Medical Droid
"The multi-armed medical droid FX-7 was stationed at Echo Base on Hoth, serving as an assistant to the medical droid 2-1B. FX-7 played a crucial role in saving Luke Skywalker after a vicious wampa attack and a night spent in the freezing temperatures of Hoth. Thanks to FX-7's excellent medical treatment programs and the bacta tank, Luke's life was spared." --Excerpt from the card back
| Sculpt--5/5 This IS FX-7--shrunken down to fit in the palm of your hand. What helps make FX-7 look so good are all the little details. There are a lot of little control panels and buttons that give the somewhat simple shape of FX-7 a more complicated look. The eighteen arms also help give FX-7 an added sense of complexity and each arm is sculpted with great detail. This is quite possibly the closest Hasbro has come to a perfect sculpt! Articulation--5/5 This is THE MOST articulated Star Wars figure to date with a whopping 39 points! There are eighteen arms on the lower part of FX-7 and each one has two articulation points! There are three more articulation points: the "head" rotates, the whole lower section where the arms are rotates, and the main arm/claw can twist. By the way, when you rotate the multi-arm section, it clicks like a ratchet. Awesome articulation; Hasbro really came through with all that arm articulation. Accessories--NA There are no accessories, so I can't really comment except to say--who needs em! This figure is so good it doesn't need accessories to make it better. Paint--4.5/5 Another stand-out quality of this figure is the paint job. There are tons of paint ops on this figure from all the control panels to the nicely painted lines. Even every single arm is painted, and painted pretty well for that matter. Only one of the arms on my FX-7 has a generally big mispaint as it has been painted silver a little too much. My only other complaint is that some of the fine white lines are a bit crooked, but there's so much paint detail on this figure that it's easy to forget about such things. Overall--5/5 This is quite possibly the finest Star Wars figure ever! The quality and detail of this small toy is almost frightening and puts even other great Power of the Jedi figures to shame. Bottom line: you must own this figure! --Photos and review by Garett Yoshimura garett@carrotnetwork.com |
