Princess Leia
With Sail Barge Cannon
"Jabba the Hutt planned to throw Han Solo to the Sarlacc in the Great Pit of Carkoon. But Princess Leia killed Jabba by choking him with the chains holding her prisoner, then rigged the Sail Barge's laser cannon to fire into the ship, destroying it and the crime lord in a huge blast!" --Excerpt from the card back
| Sculpt--4/5 I've seen this called the sexiest Leia yet, and I have to agree with that one. The sculpting is great and pretty realistic. Smooth lines and nice curves. The headsculpt is good, but the expression is a little...off. She looks like she's bored or tired; not quite the right expression when you're hitting enemies with force pikes and aiming large cannons. The neck brace is permanently attached this time around and the chain is a real chain instead of a molded one. Leia's ponytail is also real synthetic (talk about an oxymoron! you know what I mean tho) hair, and the real cloth is a nice touch though it could have been cut better. Articulation--3/5 Leia has only five points of articulation: neck, shoulders, and hips. They probably left out the usually standard waist articulation to keep her feminine form unmarred. I don't mind, 'cause she looks great. Her hip articulation is pretty strange looking though. The top of her hips aren't flush with her legs, making her hips very odd looking and quite jarring. Accessories--5/5 The Sail Barge Cannon is the main "accessory" here, but you also get a force pike. The pike is thinner than any other pike we've seen so far, but it fits in Leia's hands well and was probably made thin so it would look good when Leia holds it. It is also fully painted which makes it look very nice. Now let's talk about the main accessory, the sail barge cannon. I was surprised at how much I liked it, because before I saw it, I wasn't expecting much from this cannon. It is nicely detailed with a lot of little elements ans parts that make it a very nice prop for your action figures. There is a platform and a control box for a figure to operate the cannon. The platform has two foot pegs for any Star Wars figure. The control box can move forward and back and has a handle for your figures to hold. The projectiles are made so that the tips look like part of the cannon, making the cannon look better when the projectiles are in. The back of the cannon even has the little pedal that Luke hits to activate the cannon and ultimately destroy the sail barge. Paint--4/5 Great paint jobs all around on the figure and the cannon. The gold paint on Leia's "clothes" could be a bit better, but since the details are so small, I can understand the difficulty. Overall--4/5 This is a great deluxe figure and is a good improvement over the original Leia as Jabba's Prisoner figure. The cannon is also a great prop and goes great with this Princess Leia. The only thing I didn't like about this figure was the price I paid. Target is selling the Deluxe figures at about $16.00 which is simply outrageous. It's insane to pay $32.00 for two deluxe Star Wars figures when it should be more like $20-$25. My advise: buy em online. |
