Lando Calrissian

Bespin Escape

"Darth Vader threatens an Imperial takeover of Cloud City unless Lando helps capture Han Solo, his friend and gambling buddy. Although Lando initially complies with Vader, the Baron Administrator risks everything when he joins the Rebels and rescues Han." --Excerpt from the Force File

Finally a Lando we can be proud of. Well...not totally...

Sculpt--3/5
Arrgh! Hasbro has made a great likeness of ole' Billy Dee, but there's just one problem--he's pretty much stuck in one pose. The details in the mold are nice though, with wrinkles in the shirt and pants that make the figure more realistic than the older Lando.
One thing I noticed is that the scale of this figure is a little...off. Stand him next to a Bespin Guard or Bespin Capture Han Solo and you'll see that he's significantly shorter when he should be about the same height.

Articulation--1/5
Lando has six points of articulation: neck, shoulders, waist, and hips. This figure NEEDS some bicep-cuts, just so we could get some kind of different pose. Alas, there are none, and turning his head and his waist only change the pose slightly. Sigh, the pose is good for a Bespin escape scene though, but more variety would be nice; Lando won't be greeting Han at the Docking Bay, unless it's by gunpoint.

Accessories--3/5
You get an Imperial issue blaster rifle. It's molded in light grey plastic and is pretty rubbery. His cloth cape is very nice, but non-removeable (unless you clip the threads holding it to his shoulders). Pretty basic in this area.

Paint--3/5
Not much to screw up here. Everything is painted well.

Overall--2.5/5
Overall, I like this Lando much much more than the old one, but I think Hasbro could have done A LOT better than this.
