Endor Rebel Soldier

"When Han Solo, Leia Organa and Luke Skywalker land on the forest moon of Endor to destroy the shield generator protecting the Death Star II, they are accompanied by a squadron of commandos. Loyal and courageous, these soldiers are intrepid fighters for the cause of the Rebellion." --Excerpt from the card back

Sculpt--4/5
This is a great-looking rendition of one of the Endor Rebel soldiers. In the movie, the soldiers were all wearing something pretty different from each other so I'm glad he doesn't look like the POTF2 Endor Rebel Soldier. This rebel soldier is wearing an outer shirt like the one worn by Princess Leia in the briefing room scene. This outer shirt is molded seperately from the torso and is excellently detailed with all its wrinkles and seams. Everything else on this figure is also well detailed, from the pouches on his belt to the commlink on his wrist.
This is the bearded headsculpt for the figure (Hasbro will release the same figure with a different headsculpt later), and it is supposedly based on a Hasbro employee. Some people think it looks like Tom Green and I have to admit, it does look a bit like him. Overall, it's a good headsculpt, especially for a generic character.

Articulation--3.5/5
The Endor Rebel Soldier has ten points: neck, shoulders, bicep-cuts, wrists, waist, and hips. I'm sooo glad Hasbro gave this guy wrist joints. No more of that "asking-for-money" arm poses that were so common in the POTJ line. The bicep-cuts are also nice for other shooting poses. The shoulder joints are the only casualty here, but it's more because of the outer shirt barring any big shoulder movement. Knee articulation would have been very cool.

Accessories--5/5
You get a blaster rifle, blast effect, removeable helmet, and backpack. I'm impressed with the removeable helmet and only wish they had thought of it sooner. I hope they make a new Endor Luke with a removeable helmet and poncho (so it can double as a Final Duel Luke). The blast effect is just like the ones that come with the preview Jango Fett (or Boba Fett, I believe). The rifle is an all new sculpt from the POTF2 version and it is nicely detailed; I especially like the strap as it has a finely detailed texture to it. The backpack looks like a modern army rucksack with a hose added to the side of it. It attaches by a peg and hole in the soldier's back. An excellent assortment of well-done gear, and I can't think of anything else they could have included.

Paint--4.5/5
Everything is painted pretty nicely on my figure; no real signs of major slopiness anywhere. The soldier's outer shirt is painted very well with nice dirty/camo paint ops. All the accessories are also done well; the Endor helmet never looked better!

Overall--4/5
A solid figure overall. Hasbro did a good job on this guy and I think it's cool that they're giving us two different headsculpts for the army builders out there.
