Chewbacca

Cloud City Capture

"Captured upon their arrival at Cloud City, Chewbacca and his Rebel companions are apprehended by Darth Vader in hopes of luring their Jedi friend, Luke Skywalker, into a trap. While in solitary confinement, Chewbacca takes solace in re-assembling the dismantled C-3PO." --Excerpt from the card back

Sculpt--4/5
I wasn't sure how good this Chewy's sculpt would be. I thought his ball-jointed shoulders would ruin his look. Well, I was wrong. The shoulders look great, and Chewy's fur is sculpted well. This Chewy has fur hanging from his forearms, much like the Chewy in the 25th Anniversary 2-pack. The headsculpt is also nicely done, with a slicked-back hairstyle; you can potentially use him for scenes from any of the Original Trilogy movies.

People have been saying that this is the most accurate Chewy height-wise, which is perplexing to me since he's pretty much the same size as Falcon Mechanic Chewy. But yes, both of these Chewbacca figures are the most accurate Chewies height-wise. Overall, I've got to say this is the best-looking Chewbacca figure made yet. He's got a great resemblance, accurate height, and poseablitly to boot...

Articulation--4/5
Cloud City Capture Chewbacca has "9 points of articulation!" as it exclaims on the card back. He is articulated at the neck, shoulders, biceps, wrists, and hips. The most surprising thing about this Chewbacca isn't his ball-jointed shoulders...it's his ball-jointed neck! That's right! Chewbacca can look up and down, and he can even look side to side (slightly) now that there's more space for motion. So you can make him roar into the air while his best friend gets frozen in carbonite, or you can make him look downward as he chokes Lando. And that brings us to his well articulated arms, which allow for some great poseabilty. You can have Chewy hold his rifle with both hands, have him try to fix 3PO, or even have him "raise the roof". The only negative thing about the articulation, is that Hasbro didn't include waist articulation this time around. It doesn't bother me that much, though, as I probably wouldn't make too much use of it anyway.

Features--5/5
The only feature is associated with the main accessory: a battle-damaged dismantled C-3PO. When you place 3PO's head into the body and press downward, his eyes light up as does the control panel on C-3PO's back. Electronic lights are always a welcome addition in my book, and this is an excellent use them.

Accessories--4/5
Chewbacca comes with a "battle-damaged C-3PO", equipment bag, and Imperial blaster. The inclusion of a dismantled C-3PO is very cool, as is the light up feature built into it. However, it would've been even better if you could put 3PO together. Hasbro probably didn't go that route since in their eyes it would probably qualify as a deluxe figure. Anyway, they should have made it so you can at least attach his right arm, since he had it connected after he was re-activated. Besides his head and his body, the rest of his parts are molded together into a single pile and cannot be seperated. This kinda bummed me out as well, since it's hard to fit everything into the cargo net and make it look good at the same time. If the parts were seperated, we'd be able to arrange them in the bag any way we want. The cargo net/equipment bag is pretty much a small pouch with a drawstring. It's pretty decent, but hangs pretty low on Chewbacca when he's got it on. The Imperial blaster is unique since it has a larger handle to accomodate Chewbacca's larger hands.

Paint--5/5
I think this is the best painted Chewbacca yet. His fur has the darker patches as always, and also has a subtle paint op which highlights some parts of the fur. The highlights are really subtle but makes a difference. The bandolier is also painted differently this time with the silver cartridges painted both silver and blue-ish silver. His pouch is painted in a more orange-ish brown this time and is heavily weathered.

Overall--4.5/5
This figure is simply excellent. Definitely the best Chewbacca yet. Awesome articulation, a great electronic accessory, and a good likeness make this a Chewbacca figure that will be hard to top.
