Sculpt--4/5
This figure is another re-release of an older figure. This Darth Vader is from the much-sought after Masters of the Dark Side two-pack which was released about 3 years ago. Despite it's age, the sculpting on this figure is excellent. Unlike other recent Darth Vader figures, this Vader is posed in a more relaxed stance. His arms are well posed and make this figure capable of decent action poses as well. I especially like his left hand which is posed as if pointing--very useful for any pre-fight banter. I believe this was also the first Vader figure to sculpt the codpiece separately from the hips--a nice way to hide the hip articulation and make the figure look more realistic. This Vader also features an excellent cloth cape...correction--this Vader features the best cloth cape I've ever seen on a Vader figure. Granted, I can only recall two other Vader figures that had cloth capes, but nonetheless, this cape is the best of them all. The cape is a bit thicker than the one on the Commtech chip Vader, but this helps it hang in a realistic manner. It's too bad the inner cape isn't cloth as well; if it did, the legs would have more room for motion. Darth Vader's helmet also looks excellent. It's probably one of the largest sculpts of Vader's helmet, but in my opinion, that's a good thing. His helmet is supposed to be pretty big in proportion to his body, and I think this figure did a good job of keeping those proportions correct.
Articulation--3.5/5 Vader has seven points of articulation: neck, shoulders, left bicep-cut, waist and hips. It ain't much by today's standards, but it was pretty good for when this figure was originally released. The bicep-cut is the most useful point, making Vader capable of holding his lightsaber with both hands--perfect for striking the final blow against Obi-Wan kenobi! A wrist-cut or extra elbow-cut would have been great.

Accessories--3/5 You get Vader's lightsaber and an action figure stand. Vader's lightsaber is the older type, probably exactly the same as the one that came with the original release of this figure. However, it is sculpted excellently with sharp detail in its hilt. The stand is a nice addition and can connect to other stands just like it. .
Paint--3/5 A bit hit and miss in this department. It looks like they put a lot of effort in the paint detail of the little buttons on Vader's belt, but it's application is sloppy in many places. For instance, they've gone through the trouble of putting a silver border around the little red buttons on Vader's chest box and belt, but the paint coverage is pretty bad and there are plenty of places where the black plastic shows through the paint. It's not all bad though, and some nice points are the painted lenses on Vader's helmet and an excellently painted lightsaber hilt.
Overall--4/5 Don't be fooled by how this figure looks in the package; this is simply one of the best Vader figures ever made. It's got an excellent cloth cape, a nice semi-neutral pose that is also capable of decent action poses, and sculpting that still holds up to today's standards. I am now absolutely positive that this figure is the reason that the Masters of the Dark Side two-pack was so dang hard to come by. This is definitely a Vader figure no Vader fan should be without! Bravo to Hasbro for re-releasing this figure!
